This guy at the bar the other night
tells me my poetry aren’t poems
but rather songs
as he takes my phone
and begins singing them to himself.
These are great man, he says
really good stuff here,
as he sings, flipping back his hair.
And I don’t stop him, because why
would I stop someone
who’s turned my pain into pleasure
when I’ve tried so hard to do just that.
Hell! This guy’s voice ain’t half bad!
One man’s pain is another’s pleasure, may be that is what we must savour 🙂

It’s always a good feeling when a stranger is turned on by your work, through whatever medium it is! Haven’t seen him since, but he sure left an impression on my spirit, I hope I did the same to him.

Yes! Although irrelevant I am suddenly reminded of a line from a song I like which run thus, ‘Best laid plans sometimes are just a one night stand’! Equivalently, something unplanned, surprising leaves an impact that stays with us for a very long time. 🙂
