Learning now to live alone

The air is still, bitter, cold

As time tells which way to go

I’ll keep warm inside a poem

Something

Something is in the air today

And it’s not bad or good

Insidious perhaps

In fact I can hardly feel it

But it’s there, breathing

Be cautious whispers wind

Down the curvature of my spine

Into my core, something

Yes something is in the air today

Up here

Up here with the

bees, flies, wasps

and air

breathing

I am but a guest

however

if I was dead

we all know

I’d be dinner.
