The doctor lost his patience
One too many times
They would wander like school children
Through the cornfield of his mind
In their single filed silence
Was no ordinary line
Because the doctor and his patients
Walked for miles in simpler times

The doctor lost his patience
One too many times
They would wander like school children
Through the cornfield of his mind
In their single filed silence
Was no ordinary line
Because the doctor and his patients
Walked for miles in simpler times
Most things can’t be unsaid,
though in my heart—
under the mess I’ve made—they
can be understood, in time
with patience and surrender.
I’ll always surrender.
I just haven’t got the skin,
I just haven’t got the heart
not to know better.

To breathe is a gift we often overlook
though each day we are granted this ability.
Today, breathe deeply, fully
and accept that you are worthy,
to breathe.

When the world
seems, to be
spinning without you—
just listen
breathe and remember
the world spins for you,
as it does that perfect stranger
who too is listening.

The best a man can do most days
is to choose which bridges to let stand
and which bridges to let quietly burn.
Don’t fool yourself
I’m always listening
like a cat cradling yarn
I can get tangled too
but understand this
I have not the time
nor patience, for hollow eyes
or condescending felines,
who’ve been cute in their foolery
though you sir, are not
so as I walk away, I thank you
for your time, believe it or not
I’ve been listening my whole life,
and you’re a tangled mess
that I refuse to fool myself into believing otherwise.
